Advocate for better service delivery in health, water, education and agriculture
In conjunction with other stakeholders in Siaya County in the past year, we managed to organize a roundtable with the governor Hon. Cornel Rasanga. The subject matter rotated around policy and budget accountability. As a follow-up, the governor agreed to deliver the annual parliamentary address in the county assembly. Other issues discussed included the state of health in the county, education, and agriculture.
Participatory governance seeks to bridge the democratic deficit. Through civil education, carried out by CIAG-KENYA, citizens can access relevant information and tools that enable them to hold the government accountable. Awareness, therefore, would catapult citizen-centered development because the initiatives will emanate from the citizenry.
